Papers [manuscript]. 1893-1974.

Contains correspondence between A.H. Davis and A.G. Stephens and between Davis' son, Eric, and various publishers (e.g. Angus and Robertson, Queensland University Press), companies and people regarding A. H. Davis's work on a memorial grove which Eric Davis was organising at Emu Creek, the site of "Shingle Hut" on the "Old Selection". There are also drafts of A.H. Davis's work e.g. On our selection, The Rudd Family, Grubb's selection. Some of these are in Davis's handwriting, others are typed. Eric Davis is the executor of the A.H. Davis estate and much of the collection contains legal and financial papers relating to this estate. There is a map of the site for the memorial grove and original plans for the area, correspondence regarding films and T.V. series on Steel Rudd's works, a book containing notes on the life of A.H. Davis for his biography of A.H. Davis, newspaper reviews, a copy of Steele Rudd's Annual for 1917 and a large collection of photographs.

A. H. Davis, 1868-1935, writer of humorous sketches and novels under the pseudonym Steele Rudd, worked for the Queensland Public Service from 1886-1902.
